Dating from 1890 and designed by James Bunstone Bunning, the Lamb Tavern is a Grade 2 Listed former gin palace, one of four which were situated on the corners of the Metropolitan Cattle Market. Since the decline of the local industry the pub has become redundant and it was found that its most viable use is as residential accommodation.
Clements and Porter Architects have been appointed to oversee the conversion and refurbishment of this historic building to create two ground floor split level apartments. The design approach has been to carefully expose and restore the original features of the building whilst ensuring its use into the future.
The project has finished construction, with C&PA carrying out a full service including design, planning, gaining listed building consents and contract administration.
