Elspeth Clements BArch RIBA FRSA CA

Elspeth Clements founded C&PA in 1979 with David Porter and is the practice’s Managing Director. A graduate of University of Newcastle upon Tyne she is an architect with over 40 years experience. She is also registered as an RIBA Conservation Architect following her work on Listed Buildings throughout her career.

Elspeth has extensive expertise and experience that are vital to finding successful solutions for our clients. By building a strong network with clients, planners, contractors, and consultants, she is able to lead successful teams through each stage of a development.

As well as her work at the practice Elspeth has been a actively involved with the RIBA as a former RIBA Councillor and member of the RIBA Planning Committee and Membership Committee. She was co-founder of the professional network Women In Property. She is also extensively involved the professional education of architects as external examiner, advisor, and validator for a number Part III courses, including the Bartlett School of Architecture, RIBA North West, and APEAS.

Ciarán Treanor BA BArch RIBA

Ciarán joined C&PA in 2010 becoming a Director in 2017. Having studied at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and Bartlett School of Architecture, he qualified as an architect in 2013.

Ciarán combines excellent design skills with extensive knowledge of planning policy, building regulations and contract administration. His primary focus is finding the right solution for clients.

During his time at C&PA he has delivered many successful projects, in particular Charlotte Road where he took this challenging project through planning and was contract administrator on the £3m contract.

Andrew Morgan BArch DipArch RIBA

Andrew joined C&PA in 2013 becoming an Associate in 2018. Having studied at the Mackintosh School of Architecture and the Bartlett School of Architecture, he qualified as an architect in 2016.

Through Andrew’s diligence & skill he excels at the delivery of projects from concept design, through planning, to construction and completion.

Andrew has recently acted as the project architect for the refurbishment of the G.Kelly Eel and Pie Shop in Mile End, he has overseen the detailed design development and the delivery of the project.

David Porter BSc(Hons) DipArch RIBA ARIAS

David co-founded C&PA in 1979 with Elspeth Clements and remains a consultant with the practice, overseeing the continual professional development and providing in-house design review of projects.

Since his time as a partner David has been predominantly an educator, becoming emeritus professor of the Mackintosh School of Architecture and, until recently, professor of architecture at the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing. He has been a partner of Neave Brown (winner of the RIBA’s Royal Gold Medal in 2017) designing high-density urban projects in the Netherlands. From 2015-16 he was president of the Architectural Association and is currently a visiting professor at the University of Westminster.
