C&PA Directors Elspeth Clements and David Porter have personally restored a rural building in Normandy. The original structure of flint, brick and chalk was constructed as a coach house and stables to serve the adjacent chateau in the early 18th Century. A dormer was added in 1834. Elspeth and David have converted this into two adjoining holiday homes, with much of the building work carried out personally using traditional methods. This has included the application of a lime wash to the internal walls, repair of chalk and flint internal walls and restoration of roof trusses.
